International Visitor Programs
The International Visitor Programs Department
promotes citizen diplomacy, strengthens alliances,
and fosters peace and prosperity through
professional exchange programs.
Under the leadership of the U.S. Department of
State's Office of International Visitors and DC partner
agencies, the Council unites international leaders in
dialogue with professional counterparts in DFW to
explore topics related to our nation’s foreign policy
goals and objectives around the world.
These conversations take place in conference rooms,
schools, universities, workplaces, and living rooms
across North Texas. International visitors and local
professional resources begin conversations that we
hope will continue long after visitors have returned to
their home countries.
This fiscal year, IVP arranged 136 meetings
bringing 330 community members from 149
organizations and businesses together with
international visitors to discuss challenges and
explore best practices. Topics included global
health, energy security, environment, human
rights, digital finance, human trafficking, religious
freedom, anti-corruption, social entrepreneurship,
and media responsibility.
